I have been a local boy for most of my life, being bought up and schooled in and around the Horsham area since a young age and also representing various sporting teams from youth teams to the present day (and hate to admit being well and truly eligible for most vets teams now!)
I have two children, my eldest already at St Marys’. I feel incredibly privileged and proud to be a Governor at St Mary’s School as well as representing the extended community in making a positive contribution. My wife and I have been fortunate enough to have taken part in several activities within the school and nursery including ICT, Forest School, reading sessions and a Year R visit during the ‘People who help you’ topic which is a particular enjoyable highlight of mine.
In my capacity as a police sergeant in the Metropolitan Police, I have encountered and worked in differing roles over nearly the last 20 years. The role includes working with a diverse range and multitude of communities, agencies and partners including local authorities, community focus groups and forums, youth and project work, tackling priorities, Safeguarding and managing budgets.
I am committed to be the best I can be in applying these skills and experiences within the governing body as well as a willingness to learn new skills and contribute to the wider knowledge of the Governors to help provide supportive challenge to the school leadership team, support the extended school staff in its aims and ensure every child has the opportunity to be the best they can in the love of Christ.
