I joined St Mary’s in 2011 where I taught Year 2 in Key Stage 1 for four years before moving into Key Stage 2 to teach Year 4. As well as a class teacher, I am the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo). I am also Subject Leader for Maths and PSHCE, including SRE, where I support, guide and motivate teachers to teach these subjects to the highest standard. I also evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning in these subjects to ensure progress is being made and to inform future priorities and targets.
As part of my role as staff governor I am part of the Quality and Standards Committee where I am responsible, together with the rest of the committee, for implementing and monitoring procedures to assure the quality of the school’s curriculum and related provision. The Committee also identifies areas of good practice and recommends changes in quality processes.
I feel privileged to be working in a school with such a strong ethos alongside such dedicated and passionate colleagues, teaching such wonderful children.
